CVX-300® Excimer Laser System
Spectranetics manufactures and markets the only excimer laser system and disposable catheters for the treatment of peripheral and coronary arterial disease and lead extraction and management.
The Science of Excimer Laser Ablation Photoablation is the use of light to break down, vaporize and remove matter. Spectranetics CVX-300® Excimer Laser facilitates photoablation via a variety of Spectranetics catheters to remove binding scar tissue surrounding cardiac pacemaker ICD leads.
The mechanisms of actions are:
Photochemical: Breaking molecular bonds
1. UV light pulse hits tissue for 135-billionths of a second (135ns); the duration of the laser pulse
2. 50 microns penetration
3. Billions of molecular bonds fractures per pulse
4. After 135-billionths of a second, laser energy is not emitted
Photothermal: Producing thermal energy
1, Absorption vibrates the molecular bonds of the plaque
2. Vibration of bonds heats intracellular water
3. Water vaporizes, molecules break apart, and cells rupture
4. Expanding vapor bubble forms in 100-millionths of a second (100 µs)
5. 1,000 times the duration of the actual laser energy emission
Photomechanical: Creating kinetic energy
1. Expansion and collapse of vapor bubble breaks down tissue and clears byproducts away from tip
2. Byproducts of ablation are water, gas, and small particles
3. Entire process time per pulse is 400-millionths of a second (400 µs)
4. 4,000 times the duration of the actual laser energy emission

Turbo Elite® Laser Atherectomy Catheter
Turbo Elite® laser catheters utilize ultraviolet light to vaporize arterial blockages into particles, most of which are smaller than a red blood cell.
Versatility
1. Total occlusions via the proven and safe Step-by-Step method
2. Hard to reach vessels below the knee via Turbo Elite “treat from the tip” technology
3. Treats multiple morphology lesions which may be comprised of atheroma, fibrosis, calcium and thrombus
Proven
1. The most published atherectomy method with over 70 peer reviewed journals supporting the efficacy and safety of laser atherectomy technology treating at the molecular level in both above and below the knee lesions
2. 93% limb salvage rate demonstrated in patients with critical limb ischemia (LACI)1
4. Freedom of TLR of 77% for all patients, 85% in the stented group (CELLO)2
5. Demonstrated safety in two of the largest studies of laser atherectomy technology (CELLO and LACI)1,2
Cost Effective
1. Compared to our competitors, Turbo Elite offers the most cost effective atherectomy solution on a per case basis3
2. Turbo Elite is guaranteed. Spectranetics will provide a free replacement Turbo Elite catheter when a physician uses the catheter and it falls short of the physician’s expectations

Turbo-Tandem® Laser Guide Catheter
Turbo-Tandem® integrates proven Spectranetics technologies to ablate plaque above the knee, restoring blood flow to the lower extremities. Combining a laser guide catheter with an excimer laser atherectomy catheter, Turbo-Tandem offers physicians the ability to precisely target the lesion. The angled ramp allows for circumferential guidance and positioning of the laser catheter within the vessel, and the spring-loaded handle with variable settings greatly simplifies use of the device for repeated passes through the vessel.
Versatility
1. Whether a long diffuse lesion or a small focal lesion, Turbo-Tandem can treat with predictable, proven results
2. Turbo-Tandem can be combined with a Turbo Elite® catheter to cross a chronic total occlusion before debulking the artery
3. Six-point ramp positioning options for better control
Proven
1. The most published atherectomy method with over 70 peer reviewed journals supporting the efficacy and safety of laser atherectomy technology treating at the molecular level in both above and below the knee lesions
2. Freedom from TLR of 77% for all patients, 85% in the stented group (CELLO)1
3. No major adverse events in the pivotal study (CELLO) of laser atherectomy technology for the approval of the Turbo-Tandem system at six months1,3
Cost Effective
1. With only one pass needed per quadrant, and no need to empty a nosecone or cool down a spinning burr, Turbo-Tandem can save time during your case
2. No special wires or exact mix of lubricant needed to use Turbo-Tandem
3. Turbo-Tandem is guaranteed. Spectranetics will provide a free replacement Turbo-Tandem catheter system if a physician uses the catheter and it falls short of the physician’s expectations
